This 1978 Ferrari 308 GT4 was recently acquired by the selling dealer, who sold it to its previous owner on BaT in May 2024. Finished in Nero over matching Connolly leather upholstery, the car is powered by a 2.9-liter V8 paired with a five-speed manual transaxle. Equipment includes a limited-slip differential, 14″ silver-finished Campagnolo five-spoke wheels, quad Weber carburetors, a Nouvalari sport exhaust system, a sunroof, retractable headlights, power windows, and a gated shifter. Work in 2024 consisted of removing the side markers, installing a Becker Europa cassette stereo and Classic Auto Air air-conditioning, and replacing the ignition coils, spark plugs, and boots. Showing 63k miles, this 308 GT4 is offered at no reserve with an owner’s manual, a tool kit, service records, and a clean New York title.
The Bertone-designed bodywork is finished in Nero and received a repaint under previous ownership. Exterior details include a sunroof, retractable headlights, side air intakes, chrome trim, tinted glass, a driver-side mirror, and impact bumpers. The side markers were removed under previous ownership, and their openings were filled and smoothed. There is bubbled paint aft the right-front wheel opening, and photos showing paint-meter readings are provided in the gallery below.
Silver-finished 14″ Campagnolo five-spoke wheels with Ferrari-logo center caps are mounted with 205/70 Pirelli Cinturato CN36 tires. Braking is provided by a ventilated disc at each corner.
The 2+2 seating is upholstered in Nero Connolly leather, and the center console and door panels are trimmed to match. Other appointments include power windows and a gated shifter in addition to a Becker Europa cassette stereo with Bluetooth that was installed in 2024 along with a Classic Auto Air air-conditioning system.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel features a prancing-horse horn button and frames Veglia Borletti instrumentation consisting of a 180-mph speedometer, an analog clock, and a tachometer with a 7,750-rpm redline as well as gauges for fuel level, oil pressure, oil temperature, and coolant temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 63k miles, approximately 1,300 of which were added under current ownership.
The transverse 2.9-liter DOHC V8 is equipped with quad Weber 40 DCNF carburetors for a factory rating of 215 horsepower. A timing-belt service was carried out in 2016, the carburetors were rebuilt in 2020, and the ignition coils, spark plugs, and their boots were replaced in October 2024.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential. A Nouvalari sport exhaust system has been installed, and the factory emissions-control equipment has been removed.
Chassis number 14268 is viewable above, and the VIN is recorded on the vehicle’s New York title as FT06AL14268.
