This 1990 Ferrari Testarossa was sold new in New York and spent time in multiple states before the seller’s 2007 purchase, and they have since added approximately 6k of the 25k miles shown. Chassis 85029 received the Premio di Platino award and the National Vintage Preservation Award for “Best Preserved Early Ferrari” at the 2021 Ferrari Club of America Annual Experience in Sebring, Florida. Finished in Giallo over a beige and brown interior, the car is powered by a 4.9-liter flat-12 paired with a five-speed manual transaxle. Equipment includes a limited-slip differential, a gated shifter, 16″ five-spoke wheels, pop-up headlights, air conditioning, and power windows. This Testarossa is now offered with a Ferrari Classiche certificate of authenticity, manufacturer’s literature, service records dating back to 2011, the Ferrari Club of America awards, the factory leather document pouch, tool kit, jack kit, spare wheel, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Florida title in the name of the seller’s company.
The Pininfarina-designed body is finished in Giallo and features an asymmetrical cooling duct beneath the left fog lamp as well as pop-up headlights, fog lights, side intake strakes, black-finished rocker panels, and quad exhaust outlets.
Silver 16″ five-spoke alloy wheels are mounted with BFGoodrich tires. The right-rear wheel has blemishes. Braking is handled by four-wheel ventilated discs, and records indicate that the front brake calipers were replaced in August 2016.
The seats are trimmed in beige leather complemented by a brown dashboard and two-tone door panels. Amenities include a gated shifter located on the center console alongside controls for the air conditioning and power windows. The seatbelt tracks and motors were replaced in November 2018, and the seller notes that the shoulder belts have been disabled. The shifter ball is damaged.
The three-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel frames Veglia instrumentation including a 200-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6,800-rpm redline as well as gauges for oil pressure and coolant temperature. A clock and auxiliary gauges for fuel level and oil temperature are housed in the center stack. The six-digit odometer shows 25k miles, approximately 6k of which were added under current ownership.
The 4.9-liter flat-12 was factory rated at 380 horsepower and 354 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential. Engine gaskets were replaced to address an oil leak in April 2019, and an engine-out belt service was most recently performed in October 2019.
