This 1998 Ferrari F355 Spider sold on BaT in May 2023 and was acquired by the current owner later that same year. Work since then has included repairs to the climate control unit and various interior components as well as installing a Porsche Classic Bluetooth stereo and replacing the air pump relay, oxygen sensors, driver’s power window motor, and steering rack. An engine-out service in October 2021 included replacing the timing belt and water pump. Finished in black over tan Connolly leather, the car is powered by a 3.5-liter DOHC V8 linked with a gated six-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential. Additional equipment includes a Tubi Style exhaust system, Tubi Style headers, a black soft top, 18″ five-spoke magnesium wheels, and Scuderia Ferrari fender shields. This F355 Spider is now offered on dealer consignment with service records, an owner’s manual, a clean Carfax report, and a clean North Carolina title.
The Pininfarina-designed body is finished in black, and styling elements include a power-operated black convertible top as well as pop-up headlights, integrated front fog lights, an integrated rear decklid spoiler, quad exhaust outlets, a vented engine cover, Scuderia Ferrari fender shields, and air intakes on the doors and rocker panels. A window seal was repaired in May 2024. The top requires manual assistance to operate, and the selling dealer notes that paint meter readings shown in the gallery below indicate prior paintwork to the hood and passenger rear quarter panel.
The 18″ five-spoke magnesium wheels are mounted with a mixture of Pirelli and Michelin tires. Ferrari-branded brake calipers are mounted over ventilated discs at each corner. The power steering rack was replaced in February 2024.
The cabin features sport seats trimmed in tan Connolly leather, and matching leather extends to the center console, door panel inserts, and lower half of the dashboard. Amenities include a gated shifter, automatic climate control, drilled aluminum pedals, and a Bluetooth-capable Porsche Classic head unit linked to a JL Audio amplifier mounted in the trunk. Work since March 2024 has included repairs to the dashboard lights and driver’s seat reclining mechanism as well as the climate control unit. Signs of corrosion are noted in the left door sill.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 200-mph speedometer, a 10k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for oil pressure and coolant temperature. Ancillary instruments in the center stack include an analog clock and gauges for fuel level and oil temperature. The six-digit odometer shows 39k miles, approximately 1k of which were added under current ownership.
The mid-mounted 3.5-liter DOHC V8 features five valves per cylinder, dry-sump lubrication, and a Tubi Style exhaust system and headers. A top-end rebuild which involved machining the cylinder heads and replacing the valve guides was carried out in 2007, while the most recent engine-out service and timing belt service was performed in October 2021. More recent maintenance since February 2024 has included repairing a coolant leak and replacing the air pump relay as well as the oxygen sensors. Related invoices are shown in the gallery.
Power is routed to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential.
The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists registration history in Florida, New York, Montana, and North Carolina.
