This Sega Ferrari F355 Challenge automatic amusement system was released in 1999. It was previously installed at an arcade in Illinois before being acquired by the seller in November 2024 for his family’s enjoyment. The cabinet features twin player stations, each equipped with a racing seat, a monitor, a steering wheel, shift paddles, and pedals. The game features six available courses and levels of difficulty with a selection of Ferrari cars. Coins are no longer required for operation. This Sega arcade game is now offered at no reserve in Southbury, Connecticut.
Players can select between different levels of difficulty for the six selectable circuits: Motegi (oval circuit), Suzuka (short configuration), Monza (1998 configuration), Sugo, and Suzuka (full configuration). The gameplay features head-to-head or individual racing in either automatic or paddle-shift mode.
Each station features a 29” monitor, an adjustable racing seat, a steering wheel with paddle shifters, brake and accelerator pedals, mode selectors, and faux instrumentation. Four view modes are available, along with a digital leaderboard that has been converted to use LED bulbs.
Speakers are located in each seat’s headrest, and the steering wheel vibrates when crashing, drifting, or spinning. The cabinets can be separated for individual gameplay or linked for head-to-head racing.
Wheels and leveling casters are located under each station, and the machine can be separated into three pieces for transport. Areas of wear, repaint, and cracks are visible. The overall assembly measures 73” tall by 64” wide by 66” deep and weighs 1,118 pounds.
