This 1998 Ferrari 550 Maranello was purchased by the seller in 2017 and subsequently underwent a $14k refresh at Sphere Motorsports of Houston, Texas. Work included repainting the front and rear bumpers, reupholstering the seats, refinishing the 18″ five-spoke alloy wheels, and replacing the front lower suspension bushings, brake ducting, climate control panel, and underside tray. The car now shows 27k miles and is finished in Blu Le Mans over Crema leather, and it is powered by a 5.5-liter V12 linked with a six-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential. Equipment includes power-adjustable seats, a gated shifter, automatic climate control, and an Alpine stereo. This 550 Maranello is now offered with the owner’s manuals, service records, a tool kit, a car cover, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Georgia title in the seller’s name.
The 550 Maranello was styled by Pininfarina and features a hood scoop, a front spoiler, front fender vents, and quad exhaust tips exiting through the rear bumper cover. This example is finished in Blu Le Mans, and the front and rear bumpers, as well as the rear windshield trim, were repainted in 2017. Additional exterior details include projector-style headlights as well as fog lights and quad taillights. Paint chips on the front bumper are present, and detailed photos of the blemishes, as well as paint meter readings, are visible in the gallery below.
The 18″ five-spoke alloy wheels were refinished in 2017 and are wrapped in 255/40 front and 295/35 rear Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires. Braking is handled by black Ferrari-branded calipers over cross-drilled and ventilated rotors at all four corners. The front lower suspension bushings and front brake ducting were replaced in December 2017, and the emergency brake was adjusted at that time.
The cabin features power-adjustable seats that were reupholstered in Crema leather in December 2017, and they are accompanied by a color-coordinated center console, door panels, and lower dashboard. A fire extinguisher is located behind the driver’s seat, and additional amenities include a gated shifter, automatic climate control, power windows, an Alpine stereo, and rear luggage straps. The climate control panel was replaced in 2017.
The leather-wrapped three-spoke steering wheel fronts a Jaeger gauge cluster with a 220-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 7,600-rpm redline as well as gauges for coolant temperature and oil pressure, while an analog clock and gauges for oil temperature and fuel level are located atop the center stack. The six-digit odometer shows 27k miles, approximately 300 of which were added under current ownership.
The 5.5-liter quad-cam F133A V12 features 48 valves, dry-sump lubrication, and Bosch Motronic engine management for a factory-rated output of 478 horsepower and 419 lb-ft of torque.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential. The front undertray was replaced in December 2017.
A car cover, owner’s manuals, and a tool kit are included in the sale.
The Carfax report is free from accidents or other reported damage.
