This Ferrari Tipo F101 C 000 engine is said to have been rebuilt in 2015 and has been stored since. The 4.8L quad-cam V12 was rated from the factory for 340 horsepower, and six side-draft Weber carburetors are included in the sale. The engine was inspected in September 2025, and the corresponding invoice is presented below. Acquired by the seller a decade ago, this Ferrari V12 is now offered at no reserve in Wylie, Texas.
The F101 C is a derivative of Ferrari’s Colombo V12 and was produced from 1977 to 1979 for use in the 400 GT, which served as the replacement for the 365 GT4 2+2. The aluminum V12 displaces 4,823cc with a bore of 81mm and a stroke of 78mm. The engine was built with dual overhead camshafts on each bank, two valves per cylinder, twin ignition coils, and rear-mounted distributors.
Weber 38 DCOE 111 carburetors are included but not installed.
Engine number stamping ☆00047☆ and the F101 C 000 type designation are shown above.
Additional spare components are included and photographed in the gallery below.
Norwood Auto Italia inspected the engine in September 2025 and found that the head gasket was leaking. Leak-down test results and comments about fresh hone marks on the cylinders and valve condition are listed above.
