This 1972 Ferrari Dino 246 is one of a claimed 1,274 E-series GTS examples produced through July 1974 and was acquired new by the current owner from Algar Ferrari of Rosemont, Pennsylvania, in 1972. Now showing 96k miles, the car is finished in red over beige leather and powered by a 2.4-liter V6 equipped with triple Weber carburetors and is mated to a five-speed manual transaxle. It rides on 14″ Cromodora alloy wheels fitted over ventilated disc brakes at all four corners and is further equipped with a removable black roof panel as well as a MOMO steering wheel, a gated shifter, and air conditioning. This E-series 246 is now offered by the seller on behalf of the owner in King Of Prussia, Pennsylvania, with a clean Pennsylvania title in the owner’s name.

With bodywork designed by Aldo Brovarone and Leonardo Fioravanti at Pininfarina, the prototype 206 GT first appeared at the 1965 Paris Auto Salon and was followed by revised concepts at the 1966 and 1967 Turin Motor Shows. The 2.0L-powered 206 entered production in early 1968 and was later superseded by the 2.4L-powered 246, which was offered in GT coupe and GTS targa-top variants beginning in 1969 and 1971, respectively.

The Scaglietti-built bodywork of this GTS example is finished in red and has been repainted. US-market lighting includes recessed rectangular front turn signals, side markers, and rear reflectors inboard of the taillights. A removable black roof panel, a power antenna, and chrome bumperettes are further details.

The 14″ Cromodora five-lug alloy wheels are mounted with 205-width Michelin XWX tires. The suspension incorporates unequal-length A-arms, coilover shock absorbers, and anti-roll bars at front and rear. Stopping power is provided by power-assisted ventilated disc brakes all around. One of the Dino-branded center caps is missing, and there is no spare wheel stored in the trunk.

The cabin houses fixed-back bucket seats trimmed in beige leather with color-matched upholstery over the headrests, door panels, and rear bulkhead. Gray “mouse-fur” trim covers the dash, while black carpets line the floors. An Alpine stereo has been added, and additional amenities include air conditioning, a heater, power windows, and Ferrari-branded floor mats.

The leather-trimmed MOMO steering wheel features a Dino horn button and is paired with a dogleg-pattern gated shifter. Dino-branded Veglia Borletti instrumentation consists of a 170-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 7,750-rpm redline, an analog clock, and auxiliary gauges for oil temperature, coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and amperage. The five-digit odometer shows 96k miles, all of which were added under current ownership.

The mid-mounted 2.4-liter Tipo 135CS V6 features a 65° angle between cylinder banks, dual overhead camshafts on each bank, Magneti Marelli ignition, and a trio of two-barrel Weber carburetors. The carburetors were reportedly refurbished in November 2023.

Power is sent to the rear wheels via a five-speed manual transaxle. The seller notes that repairs have been made to the underbody.
