This 1977 Ferrari 400 is one of around 147 GTs produced with a carbureted 4.8-liter Colombo V12 and a five-speed manual transmission. Finished in black over tan leather upholstery, the car is equipped with pop-up headlights, fog lights, 15″ Cromodora wheels, power windows, and air conditioning. It was delivered new in Switzerland before being imported to the US circa 1980. This 400 GT is now offered on dealer consignment in Stratford, Connecticut, with service invoices and a Montana title in the name of the owner’s LLC.

The 365 GT4 2+2 debuted at the 1972 Paris Motor Show and was succeeded by the 400 series in 1976. This example left the factory finished in Oro Kelso (Gold Metallic) and was repainted in its current shade of black decades ago. The Pininfarina-designed bodywork features pop-up quad headlights, fog lights, hood louvers, and quad circular taillights. Work in 2020 included wet-sanding the body and repairing and repainting the trunk lid. The fuel door lever assembly and headlight bulbs were replaced in 2024.

The 15″ five-lug Cromodora five-spoke alloy wheels are mounted with 215/70 Michelin XWX tires. A spare is located in the trunk. The car is equipped with a four-wheel independent suspension, and stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes. Service between 2019 and 2020 included replacing the front and rear wheel bearings as well as the brake pads and emergency brake shoes. In 2024, the self-leveling rear shocks were replaced, along with the brake master cylinder, vacuum booster, hydraulic hoses, and lines.

The 2+2 cabin features front bucket seats and individual rear seats upholstered in tan leather, joined by color-coordinated door panels and a black dashboard, center console, and carpets. Amenities include power windows, air conditioning, and a central rear armrest. The parcel shelf was reupholstered between 2019 and 2020. Work in 2021 included an overhaul of the air conditioning system and repairs to the rear seats. The driver-side window motor was replaced in 2022.

The leather-wrapped three-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of Veglia Borletti instrumentation that includes a 300-km/h speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for oil pressure and coolant temperature. The center stack houses a quartz clock and gauges for fuel level, oil temperature, and amperage. The five-digit odometer shows 84k kilometers (~52k miles).

The 4.8-liter F101 Colombo quad-cam V12 is equipped with six Weber carburetors and was factory-rated at 340 horsepower. The starter was replaced between 2019 and 2020, and the spark plugs and wires were replaced in 2022. In 2024, the carburetors and distributors were rebuilt, the timing was adjusted, the oil was changed, and the water pump and air filters were replaced.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The driveshaft bearing was replaced between 2019 and 2020, and the exhaust hangers were replaced in 2024.

The data plate shown above lists the chassis number F101CL☆21111☆, and the current Montana title lists the VIN as 21111.

Invoices provided in the gallery document approximately $90k in service performed since 2020.
