This Sbarro Testa Rossa Baby was built in the early 1980s by Sbarro and sold through Syma in Yverdon, Switzerland, as a junior-sized car to accommodate older children. The composite bodywork is finished in red and fitted over a steel chassis and power comes from a flat-four Volkswagen engine, linked to a four-speed gearbox with reverse. Equipment includes covered headlights, a windscreen, faux side vents and exhausts, 13” bolt-on chrome wire-spoke wheels, four-wheel drum brakes, independent suspension, dual headrest fairings, chrome trim, dual rear-mounted exhaust outlets, tan leather upholstered seats and interior trim, an opening trunk, and a three-spoke wood-rimmed steering wheel. This Sbarro Testa Rossa Baby was purchased seven years ago and is now offered by the selling dealer in Huntington Station, New York, with a cockpit tonneau cover and on a bill of sale.

Franco Sbarro was a Swiss-based car designer and engineer, creating concept cars and bespoke builds. The composite bodywork was designed to resemble the Ferrari Testa Rossa race car from the late 1950s and is finished in red. Other attributes include a cut-away nose with a mesh grille, covered headlights, a hood bulge, a windscreen, faux side vents, faux side-exit exhausts, and a fuel filler cap, as well as dual headrest fairings, taillights, turning signals, a hinged engine/trunk cover, chrome trim, hood and rear deck hooks, and Ferrari and Sbarro emblems. Blemishes are visible on the right-rear panel.

The 13” bolt-on chrome wire-spoke wheels are wrapped in older 185/60 Continental tires. The car is further equipped with independent suspension and four-wheel drum brakes. The selling dealer recommends replacing the tires and servicing the braking system.

The cockpit features bucket seats upholstered in tan leather together with matching side panels, headrests, center console, cockpit surround, and dashboard trim. Discoloration and various cracks are visible on the upholstery. Additional equipment includes tan carpeting, side pockets, a rear-view mirror, a wooden shift knob, and a handbrake.

The driver is provided with a three-spoke wood-rimmed steering wheel, aft of an aluminum instrument cluster with 200-kph speedometer, a tachometer, and a fuel gauge. An ignition and additional switches are positioned either side of the steering wheel. The odometer shows 738 kilometers (~458 miles).

The Volkswagen-sourced air-cooled flat-four is mounted at the rear and accessed via the hinged engine/trunk cover. The engine number stamping F168852X is shown in the gallery, and the transmission stamping is AB 1592995. Work in preparation for sale included replacing the ignition switch, fuel pump, and battery.
