This 1992 Ferrari 512 TR is one of 408 cars built for the North America market between 1992 and 1994, and this example is finished in Nero over matching Connolly leather. It was first delivered to Big Red Sports/Imports in Norman, Oklahoma, and it shows 7k miles. A major engine-out belt service and reseal was performed in July 2024, at which time a replacement clutch assembly, release bearing, and flywheel were installed. Power is from a 4.9-liter flat-12 paired with a five-speed manual transaxle, and equipment includes a Tubi Style exhaust system, a limited-slip differential, 18″ five-spoke alloy wheels, pop-up headlights, an Alpine head unit, a remote CD changer, air conditioning, power windows, and a gated shifter. This 512 TR is now offered in California by the selling dealer with a copy of the window sticker, owner’s manuals, a 2024 invoice, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Montana title.
The Pininfarina-designed 512 TR was introduced as the updated successor to the Testarossa in 1991, with revisions that included restyled bumper covers as well as revised wheels and lighting. This example is finished in Nero and features pop-up headlights, fog lights, side intake strakes, body-color rocker panels, and quad exhaust outlets.
Silver 18″ five-spoke alloy wheels are mounted with Michelin tires, which show date codes from 2020 and 2021. Braking is handled by four-wheel ventilated discs.
The cockpit is trimmed in Nero Connolly leather upholstery over the seats, door panels, and lower dashboard. A gated shifter located on the center console alongside controls for the air conditioning and power windows, and additional amenities include motorized seat belts, a remote CD changer, and an Alpine head unit.
The three-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel frames Veglia instrumentation including a 200-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 7,200-rpm redline as well as gauges for oil pressure and coolant temperature. A clock and auxiliary gauges for fuel level and oil temperature are housed in the center stack. The six-digit odometer shows 7k miles.
The 4.9-liter DOHC flat-12 received updates over the version used in the Testarossa including Nikasil cylinder liners, a redesigned intake system, and Bosch engine management. Output was rated at 421 horsepower and 362 lb-ft of torque when new. A Tubi Style exhaust system has been installed. Work completed by Ferrari of Vancouver in July 2024 totaled over $42k and involved a reseal and timing belt service and replacement of various components as detailed on the invoice in the gallery.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential. The clutch assembly, clutch release bearing, and flywheel were also replaced in July 2024.
A photocopy of the window sticker lists initial delivery to Big Red Sports/Imports in Norman, Oklahoma, as well as factory equipment, colors, and a total suggested retail price of $195,600.
