This European-market 1984 Ferrari 308 GTS Quattrovalvole is powered by a 2.9-liter quad-cam V8 paired with a five-speed manual transaxle and is finished in Rosso Corsa over beige leather. The selling dealer tells us that the car was sold new at Sa.Mo.Car. SpA in Rome, Italy, before it was brought to the US in 1997. The current owner then purchased the car in 2022, and work performed thereafter included a timing belt service, rebuilding the water pump and fuel distributor, and replacing the oil cooler, fuel pump, camshaft cover gaskets, tires, and other belts. Equipment includes an ANSA Sport exhaust system, a removable roof panel, a gated shifter, 16″ five-spoke wheels, and pop-up headlights. This Euro 308 GTS Quattrovalvole is now offered on dealer consignment at no reserve with manufacturer’s literature, service records, tools, the removed A/C components, a clean US Carfax report, and a clean Arizona title.
The car is finished in Rosso Corsa and features a black removable roof panel as well as pop-up headlights, dual side mirrors, a vented decklid, and quad exhaust outlets.
Silver 16″ five-spoke alloy wheels were mounted with Michelin Pilot Exalto tires in February 2022. The car features a fully independent suspension with double wishbones front and rear, and stopping power is provided by ventilated discs at each corner.
The cockpit features bolstered seats trimmed in beige leather upholstery along with matching door panels. Equipment includes a Blaupunkt cassette stereo, electric windows, and a gated shifter with a dogleg gear pattern. The air-conditioning system components have been removed but are included in the sale.
The leather-wrapped MOMO steering wheel fronts Veglia instrumentation. The speedometer has been fitted with a 180-mph overlay, and its odometer continues to read in kilometers, per the seller. It shows 23k kilometers (~14k miles).
The mid-mounted 2.9-liter V8 features four valves per cylinder and Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection. Records indicate that the following parts were replaced in 2022:
- Timing belts and pulleys
- Fuel pump, accumulator, hose, and injectors
- Camshaft cover gaskets
- Oil cooler
- Thermostat
- Coolant hoses
- Spark plug wires
- Various belts
- Engine lid struts
The water pump and fuel distributor were also rebuilt during this period. The fuel pump was replaced again, and a reproduction distributor cap was installed in July 2024. Photographs of compression-test readings are shown in the gallery below.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential. An ANSA Sport exhaust system is installed.
