This 1993 Ferrari Mondial T is a European-specification example that was imported to Japan by Cornes & Co. in 1994. Said to be one of less than 40 produced with a Valeo five-speed transaxle featuring an electromechanical automatic clutch, chassis 97408 is reported to have remained with the same owner for three decades before being acquired by the selling dealer in late 2025 and imported to the US in early 2026. The car is finished in Rosso Corsa over Nero leather upholstery and powered by a 3.4-liter F119D V8. It rides on 16″ five-spoke alloy wheels coupled with anti-lock disc brakes at all four corners and is further equipped with power steering, an electronically adjustable suspension, and a limited-slip differential. The timing belt was replaced in preparation for the sale, and additional details include pop-up headlights and rectangular side air intakes, along with 2+2 seating, a gated shifter, air conditioning, and a Kenwood CD stereo. Now showing 33k kilometers (~21k miles), this Mondial T coupe is offered by the selling dealer with a tool kit, manufacturer’s literature, partial service records, import documents, a CarVX report, and a clean Florida title listing the car as a 1994 model.
The Mondial was designed by Pininfarina, and the updated T model introduced in 1989 featured revised body-color bumper covers and door handles as well as restyled rectangular side air intakes when compared with earlier examples. This car is one of roughly 850 Mondial T coupes produced and is finished in Rosso Corso with black lower bodywork. Further details includes pop-up headlights, integrated front fog lights, and quad exhaust outlets as well as front and rear trunks.
The 16″ five-spoke alloy wheels are mounted with wear 205/55 front and 225/55 rear Pirelli Cinturato P7 tires with 2019 date codes. Power steering and an electronically adjustable suspension with two stiffness settings were standard on the Mondial T along with four-wheel vented anti-lock disc brakes. The front right control arm bushings were replaced ahead of the sale.
The front bucket and fold-down rear seats are upholstered in Nero leather, which extends to the dashboard, center console, and doors. A Kenwood CD stereo and a Furuno electronic toll-collection unit have been added, and further amenities include air conditioning, a digital clock, and power windows. An inspection from 2026 notes that the passenger window motor is weak.
The three-spoke steering wheel is paired with a dogleg-pattern gated shifter and frames Veglia Borletti instrumentation including a 280-km/h speedometer and a tachometer with a 7,500-rpm redline along with auxiliary gauges. The six-digit odometer shows 33k kilometers (~21k miles), approximately 100 of which were added by the selling dealer.
The longitudinally mounted 3.4-liter F119D V8 features two overhead camshafts per cylinder bank as well as dry-sump lubrication and Bosch Motronic M2.7 electronic engine management. Output was rated by the factory at 300 horsepower. Service work in February 2026 included changing the oil, installing Hill Engineering idler and tensioner bearings, and replacing the timing belt, main crankshaft seal, spark plugs, air filter, fuel filter, and various accessory belts. This Mondial T is one of approximately 20 coupes that were specified with a semi-manual transaxle that was built by the French company Valeo. Initially developed for use by Lancia’s rally team in the Delta Integrale, it was the first semi-automated gearbox used in a Ferrari road car. Micro-switches within the shifter assembly detect the selected gear, which signals the electro-mechanical actuator to engage or release the clutch. The transaxle directs power from the engine to the rear wheels through a limited-slip differential.
