This Ferrari 250 GTE is a Series II body shell that was reportedly delivered new in Switzerland and removed from a 1962 chassis that was rebodied as a GTO. The shell was acquired as an intended Reformer Series project by Jonathan Ward of ICON, from whom it was purchased by the seller approximately nine years ago. ICON has continuously stored the shell, which wears a blue finish and retains a front grille, wrap-around bumpers, and window glass. A dashboard, headliner, and rear seats are also included along with 3D renderings. This 250 GTE body shell is located at ICON in Chatsworth, California, and is now offered on a bill of sale.

Ferrari 250 GTE 2+2 Series II Body Shell

Introduced at the 1960 Paris Motor Show, the 250 GTE was the first Ferrari model designed with standard rear seating. It carried over a modified version of the 2,600mm-wheelbase 508 chassis used in previous 250 variants, with the engine moved forward to accommodate rear seats. The model was built in three series, the first two of which featured styling incorporating slim inset headlight bezels, grille-mounted driving lights, and chrome Superamerica-style taillight housings.

Pininfarina bodywork combines steel construction with aluminum hood and trunk panels, and this example is finished in blue paint that shows wear throughout. The window glass and chrome surrounds have been retained along with a grille, a fender-mounted left mirror, fender vents, Pininfarina badging, and wrap-around bumpers with guards. Series III taillight assemblies have been installed, though the right lens is missing.

The dashboard remains in place along with the headliner, sun visors, transmission tunnel cover, and rear seats. The floors have been removed, and corrosion present around the shell is shown in the gallery below.

CAD files of 3D renderings produced in SolidWorks will accompany the project.

The seller is unable to locate a VIN or Pininfarina body number on the shell. It carries no title or registration and is being sold on a bill of sale.
