Someone Is Building a Ferrari Testarossa 6×6 and We Have Questions

A six-wheeled Ferrari Testarossa was recently spotted on a flatbed truck in Dallas, Texas, and we can’t help but wonder what exactly is going on here. The car in question is likely part of a new project from Gas Monkey Garage, the same team behind last year’s jaw-dropping, roofless, three-seat Testarossa EV built for SEMA.

So, what makes this Ferrari Testarossa stand out? Well, the key feature is the extra set of wheels—yes, this is a 6×6 Testarossa. In automotive terms, a 6×6 typically refers to a vehicle with six wheels, all of which are powered. However, it’s safe to assume that the front wheels of this Testarossa aren’t getting any power, and whether all four rear wheels are driven remains unclear. Regardless, for the sake of simplicity—and because it just sounds awesome—we’re calling it a 6×6 Testarossa.

But what’s the story behind this bizarre creation? Unfortunately, we don’t have a lot of details, but we do know this much: it was spotted in Dallas by Hvber.Media on Instagram, where it was being hauled on a flatbed. The car appears to be a work-in-progress, with missing front fenders and the engine bay exposed—though it’s unclear whether there’s even an engine inside. At the rear, there’s a huge, unfinished diffuser, further suggesting that the car is still in the early stages of construction.

While official information is scarce, we have a strong suspicion that this project is coming from Gas Monkey Garage, the Dallas-based custom shop run by Richard Rawlings. Why? For starters, Rawlings was spotted buying no fewer than five Ferrari Testarossas last year, all of which were used as movie cars for the film Infinite. These cars were likely in rough condition, making them perfect candidates for a wild, off-the-wall build like this one.

In addition to that, the tow vehicle seen in the Instagram video—a black-and-silver Ram pickup hauling a three-axle flatbed with custom wheels—appears to be identical to the one seen daily on the live camera feed outside Gas Monkey Garage. That’s some pretty convincing circumstantial evidence.

And there’s even more: the Gas Monkey crew has already shown they’re not afraid to take Testarossas to the next level. Last year, they unveiled the Testa, a roofless, three-seat electric Testarossa at SEMA, which raised plenty of eyebrows. Could this six-wheeled Ferrari be their next big SEMA project? Only time will tell, but if anyone’s capable of pulling off something this wild, it’s definitely Gas Monkey Garage.
