This 1999 Ferrari 550 Maranello is a European-market car that was specified with the Fiorano Handling Package and spent time in Germany and Spain before it was purchased by its current owner in January 2023. The car underwent a refurbishment process in Italy before it was imported to the US and received a Ferrari Classiche certification in December 2024. The 5.5-liter V12 was resealed and fitted with a replacement timing belt, head gaskets, valve cover gaskets, and drive belts. The body was disassembled and refinished in Nero DS, the suspension was overhauled, and the cabin was reupholstered in black Nappa leather. Equipment includes a six-speed manual transaxle, a limited-slip differential, 18″ five-spoke alloy wheels, fog lights, Scuderia Ferrari fender shields, a roll bar, power-adjustable Daytona-style seats, a gated shifter, a CD stereo, and automatic climate control. Previously offered on BaT in December 2024, this 550 Maranello shows 84k km (~52k miles) and is offered again in Massachusetts on dealer consignment with an owner’s manual, refurbishment service records, a car cover, and a clean Montana title.
The 550 Maranello was styled by Pininfarina, and this example was finished from the factory in Nero DS. It was disassembled and repainted in December 2023 by Carrozzeria Europa in Carpi, Italy. The seals and weatherstripping were also replaced at that time. Equipment includes projector-style headlights, fog lights, a hood scoop, a front spoiler, front fender vents, Scuderia Ferrari fender shields, and quad exhaust tips exiting through the rear bumper cover.
The 18″ five-spoke alloy wheels were mounted with 255/40 front and 295/35 rear Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires since the previous auction. The car was optioned with the Fiorano Handling Package, which included stiffer springs and a revised steering rack. Braking is handled by red Ferrari-branded calipers over cross-drilled and ventilated rotors at all four corners. The suspension was overhauled and the brakes were serviced in September 2023 by Auto Elite in Fiorano Modenese, Italy.
The cabin was re-trimmed in black Nappa leather in May 2023 by Leather Design Car Interiors in Vezzano sul Crostolo, Italy. Amenities include power-adjustable Daytona-style seats, a roll bar, a gated shifter, automatic climate control, electric windows, a CD stereo, and rear luggage straps. The alarm was serviced under current ownership, and the air conditioning system was recharged in September 2023.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel fronts a Jaeger gauge cluster with a 340-km/h speedometer and a tachometer with a 7,600-rpm redline as well as gauges for coolant temperature and oil pressure. An analog clock is located atop the center stack along with gauges for oil temperature and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 84k km (~52k miles), approximately 500 of which were added under current ownership.
The 5.5-liter quad-cam F133A V12 features 48 valves, dry-sump lubrication, and Bosch Motronic engine management for a factory-rated output of 478 horsepower and 419 lb-ft of torque. A timing belt service was performed in September 2023 by Auto Elite, at which time the engine was resealed, the water pump and fuel pumps were refurbished, the valve covers were repainted, and the head gaskets, valve cover gaskets, and spark plugs were replaced.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential. The transaxle fluid was changed in February 2024.
