This 1998 Ferrari 550 Maranello was first registered in Michigan and has since spent time in California, Florida, and New York where its 23k miles have been added. It is finished in Giallo Modena over Nero leather and is powered by a 5.5-liter V12 paired with a six-speed manual transaxle. Equipment includes 18″ five-spoke wheels, power-adjustable seats, a gated shifter, a radar detector, and a limited-slip differential. The front and rear brake pads and rotors were replaced in May 2025. Recently acquired by the seller, this 550 Maranello is now offered in California with service records dating back to 2003, spare parts, manufacturer’s literature, a car cover, a clean Carfax report, and a New York title.
The 550 Maranello was styled by Pininfarina, and this example is finished in Giallo Modena. Equipment includes projector-style headlights, fog lights, a hood scoop, a black front spoiler, front fender vents, and quad exhaust tips exiting through the rear bumper cover. The selling dealer believes that the front bumper cover has been repainted, and cracked and discolored paint protection film is visible on the wheel arches.
The 18″ five-spoke alloy wheels are mounted with Continental ExtremeContact DWS06 Plus tires measuring 255/40 up front and 295/35 out back. Braking is handled by black-finished Ferrari-branded calipers over cross-drilled and ventilated rotors at all four corners. The brake shoes were changed in October 2023, while the front and rear pads and rotors were replaced in May 2025.
Nero leather covers the power-adjustable seats and extends to the dashboard, center console, door panels, and rear luggage straps. Further interior appointments include a gated shifter, metal pedal covers, automatic climate control, electric windows, and a cassette stereo. A knob to turn on an integrated radar detector is located on the center console aft of the cigarette lighter. The air-conditioning system refrigerant was recharged in July 2022, at which point an inspection noted a possible leak in the system. Wear is visible on the driver’s seat outer bolster.
The leather-wrapped three-spoke steering wheel fronts a Jaeger gauge cluster with a 220-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 7,600-rpm redline as well as gauges for coolant temperature and oil pressure. An analog clock and gauges for oil temperature and fuel level are located atop the center stack. The six-digit odometer shows 23k miles, approximately 300 of which were added under current ownership.
The 5.5-liter quad-cam F133A V12 features 48 valves, dry-sump lubrication, and Bosch Motronic engine management for a factory-rated output of 478 horsepower and 419 lb-ft of torque. A timing belt service was most recently performed in December 2020, and the thermocouple control units were replaced in October 2022.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential.
The Carfax report is free of accidents or other reported damage.
