This 1:8 scale model of a Ferrari F40 was produced by Amalgam and was acquired by the owner in 2015 for display in their dealer showroom. The model is constructed of resin and is finished in red over a coordinated interior. Details include NACA ducts, a rear wing, a hinged engine cover with a transparent panel, silver five-spoke wheels, and miniature luggage. Amalgam used digital scans of an F40 to render details at scale, and the seller notes this is one of 199 pieces. This F40 scale model is offered at no reserve in Austin, Texas.
The mid-engine F40 was engineered by Nicola Materazzi, and its body was styled by Pininfarina. This 1:8 scale model features resin body panels finished in red and emulates the changes specific to US-market cars, including a deep black chin spoiler, a tow hook hidden in the black mesh of the radiator intake, and side markers ahead of the front and behind the rear wheel arches. Additional details include Ferrari and Pininfarina badging, NACA ducts, faired-in faux driving lights and turn signals, a windshield wiper arm, a rear wing, and a transparent louvered engine cover.
The removable five-spoke center-lock wheels are fitted with R-clips and wrapped in faux Michelin Pilot Sport tires. Ducts send air to the Brembo calipers.
The interior features red seats, simulated carbon-fiber door panels, an instrument cluster, a three-spoke steering wheel, and a gated shifter. The seats are equipped with faux belts.
The hinged engine cover is fitted with a transparent louvered panel, and engine compartment details include faux twin turbochargers and intercoolers, an intake manifold, and a blue oil filter.
A plexiglass cover protects the model, which is attached to a display base.
Luggage modeled after the three-piece set produced by Schedoni is included.
