This 1996 Ferrari F355 Spider is said to have been acquired new by a former World War II fighter pilot, who drove the car for 21 years before he relinquished his driver’s license and sold it in 2017 to the seller, a family member by marriage. Subsequent work performed since 2019 included replacing the convertible soft top, rear window, water pump, spark plugs, thermocouples, and catalyst temperature control modules as well as performing an engine-out timing belt service. Now showing 20k miles, the car is finished in Argento Nürburgring Metallic over black Connolly leather and is powered by a 3.5-liter DOHC V8 linked with a six-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential. Further equipment includes 18″ five-spoke magnesium wheels, pop-up headlights, power windows, automatic climate control, and an Alpine stereo. This F355 Sider is now offered in Pennsylvania with manufacturer’s literature, a leather briefcase, a tool kit, a Ferrari-branded car cover, partial service records, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Florida title in the seller’s name.
The Pininfarina-designed body is finished in Argento Nürburgring Metallic, and the power-operated black convertible soft top, rear window, and straps were replaced in March 2023. Details include pop-up headlights, integrated fog lights, an integrated rear decklid spoiler, a vented engine cover, quad exhaust outlets, and air intakes on the doors and rocker panels.
Magnesium 18″ five-spoke wheels are wrapped with 225/40 front and 265/40 rear Michelin Pilot Sport tires. Ferrari-branded brake calipers are mounted over ventilated discs at each corner. The parking brake switch was adjusted in June 2022, and the seller notes that the inner CV axle boots have been replaced.
The cabin features sport seats trimmed in black Connolly leather, and color-matching leather extends to the center console, door panel inserts, and lower half of the dashboard. Amenities include a gated shifter, automatic climate control, an Alpine cassette stereo, and drilled aluminum pedals. The seller notes that the sticky button surfaces have been cleaned and the stickiness has been removed.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 200-mph speedometer, a 10k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for oil pressure and coolant temperature. Ancillary instruments in the center stack include an analog clock and readouts for fuel level and oil temperature. The six-digit odometer shows 20k miles, approximately 2k of which have been added under current ownership.
The mid-mounted 3.5-liter DOHC V8 features five valves per cylinder and dry-sump lubrication for a factory-rated output of 375 horsepower and 268 lb-ft of torque. The exhaust valves and manifolds were replaced under previous owners, and an engine-out timing belt service was completed in May 2019, at which time the water pump, drive belts, spark plugs, thermocouples, and catalyst temperature control modules were replaced.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential. The transaxle fluid was changed in May 2019.
A leather briefcase and manufacturer’s literature will accompany the vehicle along with a tool kit, partial service records, and a Ferrari-branded car cover.
The Carfax report is free of accidents or other reported damage.
