This 1975 Ferrari 208 GT4 is one of 840 examples produced for the Italian market between 1975 and 1980 and was brought to the US before being acquired by its late owner in 2000. The car is finished in metallic gray over red cloth and gray vinyl upholstery, and power comes from a 1,991cc V8 equipped with quad Weber downdraft carburetors and mated to a five-speed manual transaxle. Further equipment includes an independent suspension, disc brakes, and 14″ Cromodora wheels along with a MOMO steering wheel, a dogleg-pattern gated shifter, Borletti air conditioning, and a Concord cassette stereo. The engine smokes from the right cylinder bank on cold starts and while driving, and the selling dealer recommends double clutching while shifting. This 208 GT4 is now offered on dealer consignment on behalf of the late owner’s estate with tools, recent service records, and a Colorado title listing the car as a 1979 model.

The Bertone-designed 208 GT4 was introduced at the 1975 Geneva Motor Show and shared its bodywork with the contemporary 308 GT4. It was built exclusively for the Italian market, where taxes were imposed on vehicles with engine displacements larger than two liters.

Further details include retractable headlights, Carello fog lights, dual side-view mirrors, a retractable antenna, and a quad-exit exhaust. Rust bubbles on the fender bottoms and damage on the passenger-side pinch welds can be seen in the gallery.

Silver 14″ Cromodora wheels feature Dino-branded center caps and are mounted with 205/70 BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires that were installed in April 2019. The car rides on a four-wheel independent suspension with anti-roll bars at the front and rear, while braking is handled by discs at all four corners.

The selling dealer notes that the gauges work intermittently. The retrofitted five-digit odometer shows 71k miles, and total mileage is unknown.

The transverse-mounted 1,991cc DOHC V8 is equipped with quad Weber downdraft carburetors and was factory rated at 167 horsepower at 7,700 rpm. A timing belt service was performed at 71k miles in 2016, and a replacement water pump was also fitted at that time. A replacement coolant temperature switch and hoses were installed in 2021, and the cooling fan switch was repaired in preparation for the sale. Results from compression and leakdown tests performed in 2019 are presented on an invoice in the gallery. The selling dealer notes difficult cold starts as well as smoke from the right cylinder bank.
