These bucket seats were manufactured by OMP in Italy for use in a Ferrari 348 Challenge, and feature molded Kevlar composite shells covered in red Nomex cloth upholstery. One of the headrests has a Jean Alesi signature. Both fixed-back seats feature racing harness pass-throughs and removable padded cushions. The owner has displayed the seats for the past 32 years, and they are now offered at no reserve by the selling dealer on behalf of the owner in Italy.
The 348 Challenge debuted in 1993, and F40-inspired bucket seats constructed from a Kevlar composite material were fitted to meet racing safety regulations. The seats are upholstered in red Nomex cloth and feature coordinating removable padding secured by hook-and-loop fasteners. Embroidery on the headrests includes the OMP logo and “348 challenge” script, and the thigh cushions have OMP embroidery.
A Jean Alesi signature appears on one headrest. The seller describes the padding as dried out due to age, and the condition of the fabric is photographed below.
Pass-throughs on each seat allow for the use of racing harnesses. An OMP decal is affixed to the top of each seat shell. Both seats retain adjustable quick-disconnect retention cables to secure the upholstery.
Stickers adhered to the bottom of each seat indicate production by OMP in Italy.
OMP-branded harnesses and Ferrari-branded covers are included.
