This 1981 Ferrari 308 GTBi spent approximately four decades with its prior owner before being acquired by the selling dealer in 2024, and a timing belt service was carried out in November 2024. The car is powered by a fuel-injected 2.9-liter quad-cam V8 paired with a five-speed manual transaxle, and it is finished in red over black leather. Equipment includes Euro-style side marker lights, 16″ five-spoke wheels, a limited-slip differential, and an aftermarket exhaust as well as air conditioning, a gated shifter, and electric windows. This 308 GTBi is now offered with a clean California title.
The car was refinished in red circa 2015 and is equipped with Euro-style side marker lights as well as pop-up headlights, dual side mirrors, a vented decklid, and quad exhaust outlets.
Silver 16″ five-spoke alloy wheels were mounted in preparation for the sale and are wrapped in Continental ExtremeContact tires. The car features a fully independent suspension with double wishbones front and rear, and stopping power is provided by ventilated discs at each corner.
The cockpit features bolstered seats upholstered in Nero leather along with matching door panels. Equipment includes air conditioning, a cassette stereo, electric windows, and a gated shifter with a dogleg gear pattern.
The leather-wrapped MOMO steering wheel fronts Veglia instrumentation including a 180-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 7,700-rpm redline, and supplementary gauges. Additional readouts are mounted ahead of the shifter. The five-digit odometer shows 38k miles, approximately 200 of which were added under current ownership.
The mid-mounted 2.9L quad-cam V8 is equipped with Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection and was factory rated at 205 horsepower and 181 lb-ft of torque. A timing belt service was completed in November 2024. The water pump, air filter, fluids, and gaskets were replaced at that time. An aftermarket exhaust system is fitted.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential.
The Carfax report shows that the car was designated a Gross Polluter by the state of California in 2004 and 2006. Smog components have been removed from the car, and the car cannot pass a California emissions test in its current configuration, therefore it cannot be sold to an in-state private party buyer.
