This 1981 Ferrari 308 GTSi features 328-style bodywork revisions, and it wears an older repaint in red. It is powered by a fuel-injected 2.9-liter quad-cam V8 paired with a five-speed manual transaxle that cannot be shifted into second gear, and it is equipped with a limited-slip differential, chromed 16″ five-spoke alloy wheels, a removable roof panel, a quad-exit exhaust system, air conditioning, a gated shifter, electric windows, and an aftermarket sound system. This 308 GTSi was purchased by its current owner approximately eight years ago, and it is now offered on dealer consignment in Delaware with a clean Maryland title.
The car wears a repaint in red, and it has been modified with revised bodywork including side skirts and a 328-style front and rear valances. The car is equipped with a black removable roof panel and Scuderia Ferrari fender emblems. The Carfax report indicates that the car was stolen in February 1996, and the rear valance has “GTS” rather than “GTSi” badging.
Chromed 16″ five-spoke alloy wheels are mounted with Bridgestone Potenza RE050A tires. The spare wheel and tire are missing. The car features a fully independent suspension with double wishbones front and rear, and stopping power is provided by ventilated discs at each corner.
The cockpit features bolstered seats trimmed in Nero leather upholstery along with matching door panels. Equipment includes air conditioning, electric windows, and a gated shifter with a dogleg gear pattern. The aftermarket radio is linked with speakers housed in an enclosure behind the seats. The driver’s seat is torn.
The three-spoke steering wheel has a Ferrari badge and a Ferrari-logo center emblem. A 180-mph speedometer has been installed, and its six-digit odometer shows 7k miles.
The mid-mounted 2.9L quad-cam V8 is equipped with Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection and was factory rated at 205 horsepower and 181 lb-ft of torque. The date of the last timing-belt service is unknown.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential. The gearbox can only be shifted into second gear when the car is not moving.
The Carfax report includes a “vehicle stolen” notation as its first entry.
