This 1980 Ferrari 308 GTSi remained with its original owner until 1993, at which time it was purchased by the current owner who has reportedly added less than 3k of the 14k miles shown on the odometer. Recommissioning work after the car came out of storage in 2022 included overhauling the fueling system, converting the air conditioning to use R134a, adjusting the valves, and replacing the timing and accessory belts along with the battery, steering rack, camshaft sprockets, brake hoses, and more as detailed below. Repainted in red over matching leather upholstery, the car is powered by a fuel-injected 2.9-liter quad-cam V8 paired with a five-speed manual transaxle. Additional equipment includes a limited-slip differential, 17″ MOMO wheels, a removable roof panel, pop-up headlights, a quad-exit exhaust system, a gated shifter, a Nardi steering wheel, a Blaupunkt CD stereo, and electric windows. This 308 GTSi is now offered on dealer consignment with an owner’s manual, service records, tool and spares kits, spare wheels and tires, and a clean Illinois title.
The car was repainted in red in 1993, and exterior details include a removable black roof panel, pop-up headlights, dual Vitaloni side mirrors, a vented decklid, and quad exhaust outlets.
MOMO 17″ modular wheels are mounted with 215/45 front and 235/45 rear Pirelli P700-Z tires. The car features fully independent suspension with double wishbones front and rear, and braking is provided by a ventilated disc at each corner. The steering rack and outer tie-rod ends were replaced in winter 2024-25, and the brake fluid was flushed after replacement hoses were fitted.
The bolstered seats are upholstered in Rosso leather, and the center console and door panels are trimmed to match. Additional appointments include a Blaupunkt Miami Beach CD stereo, electric windows, and a gated shifter with a dogleg gear pattern in addition to air conditioning that was converted in 2024 to use R134a. Worn driver-headrest upholstery is depicted in the gallery.
The leather-wrapped Nardi steering wheel frames Veglia Borletti instrumentation consisting of an 85-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 7,700-rpm redline, and gauges for oil pressure, water temperature, and fuel level. A clock and an oil-temperature gauge are housed ahead of the shifter. The five-digit odometer shows 16k miles, approximately 2,600 of which were added under current ownership.
The mid-mounted 2.9L quad-cam V8 is equipped with Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection and was factory rated at 205 horsepower and 181 lb-ft of torque. Work since November 2022 has included rebuilding the fuel distributor and regulator, flushing the fuel tanks, and tuning the fuel-injection system as well as adjusting the valves, installing Hill Engineering tensioner pulleys, repairing exhaust leaks, and replacing the following:
- Timing and accessory belts
- Camshaft sprockets
- Valve-cover and camshaft seals
- Fuel injectors and seals
- Fuel pump, relay, sending unit, and accumulator
- Fuel hoses from tank to pump and return line to right-side tank
- Lower sump-cover seal
- Battery
- Spark plugs
- Thermostat
- Coolant hoses
Cylinder-compression measurements taken in 2023-24 are noted on a service record in the gallery.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential. The transmission fluid was changed in winter 2024-25 after the sump gasket was replaced.
The four removed 14″ Campagnolo wheels and mounted Yokohama tires are included in the sale, as are an owner’s manual, service records, and tool and spares kits.
The vehicle’s Illinois title notes the VIN as 9A0031905, the last nine characters of the full VIN shown above.
