This 1982 Ferrari 512 BBi is one of 1,007 fuel-injected examples produced over a four-year production run. Chassis 38835 underwent refurbishment work by Paul Newman at Newman Automotive R&D in Minesing, Ontario, from 2021 to 2023 prior to being brought to the US, where it was further serviced by Team CJ of Austin, Texas. Finished in Rosso Corsa over tan leather, the car is powered by a 4.9-liter F110A flat-12 linked with a five-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential. It rides on center-lock metric five-spoke wheels and features a front lip spoiler and a high-mount rear wing along with pop-up headlights coupled with fog lights. Inside, Daytona-style seats are accompanied by a Nardi steering wheel and a gated shifter as well as Borletti air conditioning and a Pioneer cassette stereo. Now showing 30k kilometers (~19k miles), this 512 BBi is offered by the selling dealer in Vero Beach, Florida, with manufacturer’s literature, tools, spare and removed parts, and a clean Texas title.

The Berlinetta Boxer model was styled by Pininfarina’s Leonardo Fioravanti and was introduced at the 1971 Turin Auto Show. The car features a steel-paneled cabin section paired with a tubular chassis. Aluminum is incorporated for the front and rear clamshells and door panels, while the lower panels are fiberglass. The 512 BBi variant was introduced at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 1981. The cars were not officially offered in the US, though some were imported and federalized in-period via the gray market.

This example is finished in Rosso Corsa and features a body-color front lip spoiler along with a black high-mount rear wing, intake covers, and side mirrors. Pop-up headlights with yellow-lens lamps are paired with fog lights up front, and additional details include an aluminum hood grille, NACA side ducts, and quad polished exhaust outlets. The lower rear grille was replaced in 2021, the undersides of the hood and engine cover were repainted in 2022, a replacement hood badge was fitted in 2023, and paint correction was performed in 2025.

Center-lock 415mm five-spoke wheels are mounted with 240/55 Michelin TRX tires with 2022 date codes. The 512 BBi features a fully independent suspension with unequal-length double wishbones, anti-roll bars fore and aft, and Koni shocks all around with a double coilover setup out back. Stopping power is provided by ventilated discs at all four corners.

The Daytona-style seats are upholstered in tan leather, which extends to the center console and door panels. The dash is covered in black leather, while the floors and rear bulkhead are lined with red carpets. A Ferrari-branded Pioneer AM/FM cassette stereo is mounted in the center of the dash and connected to a graphic equalizer to the left of the steering column. Further amenities include Borletti air conditioning as well as three-point seatbelts and power windows. The air conditioning compressor was replaced in 2024.

The split-spoke Nardi steering wheel is paired with a dogleg-pattern gated shifter. Veglia Borletti gauges consist of a 320-km/h speedometer and a tachometer with a 7k-rpm redline as well as a clock and auxiliary readouts that extend to either side of the instrument binnacle. The five-digit odometer shows 30k km kilometers (~19k miles). Work since 2023 has involved replacing the horn and dash lights in addition to rebuilding the clock and repairing the oil pressure gauge.

The 4.9-liter F110A flat-12 features Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection utilizing twin CIS fuel distributors and was factory rated at 340 horsepower. Service in the last five years has included the following:
- 2021 – Media-blasted and ceramic-coated exhaust manifolds and mufflers
- 2022 – Recored radiator and replaced engine bay heat shields
- 2023 – Replaced engine bay side panels
- 2024 – Changed fuse holders for fuel pump power supply
- 2025 – Rebuilt radiator fan, vacuum-balanced cylinders, added Perma-Tune electronic ignition, installed repaired intake runners, replaced alternators, changed battery

Power is routed to the rear wheels via a five-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential. The transaxle pan gasket was replaced in 2022, and a replacement belly pan was fitted in 2023.
