This Ferrari driver’s kit was gifted to the seller by the owner of a Monza SP1, who reportedly received two from Ferrari. The accessories were produced by Berluti and Loro Piana, and the contents include a helmet and carry bag, a duffel bag, a pair of goggles, a pair of gloves, a jacket, pants, a sweater, a cap, and a scarf. This collection is now offered at no reserve in Spring, Texas.
French leather maker Berluti was founded in 1895 and worked with Ferrari to produce helmets for Monza SP1 owners. Bright prancing horse logos and brown leather accent the carbon-fiber construction. A clear scratch-resistant visor is fitted.
A shoulder strap is fitted to the duffel bag, which has twin-loop handles incorporated into the leather upper sections. Red edge coating finishes the leather areas, and gray fabric forms the lower section of the bag. A coordinating carry bag for the helmet is also included.
A pair of goggles with a Ferrari-branded elastic strap is included. UV protection is incorporated into the anti-fog lenses. The goggles are stored within a black leather case with a debossed prancing horse logo.
Loro Piana is a clothing and textile company founded in 1924 in Quarona, Italy. In collaboration with Ferrari, Loro Piana designed and produced a series of sartorial accessories inspired by 1950s motorsports. Loro Piana made the unlined gloves from brown Plongé leather, incorporating perforations and red accents.
The jacket and pants are constructed of a wool blend treated with Loro Piana’s Storm System to make the fabric water-resistant. The gray fabric has diagonal motifs inspired by the appearance of carbon fiber. Rosso Corsa accents appear throughout the garments.
A leather tag is located above the jacket’s hem, and the back of the collar is embroidered with Monza SP1.
A sweater constructed of 15.5-micron merino wool is included and has a zippered high collar and Rosso Corsa shoulder trim.
The scarf is fashioned from wool with diagonal design elements and has contrasting selvage.
The cap is made from water- and wind-resistant wool with a wool piqué lining.
