1985 Ferrari 412

This 1985 Ferrari 412 was brought to the US by a previous owner, reportedly around 2016/2017. It received refurbishment work around 2021, including repainting the exterior in black, reupholstering the interior in white leather, and refinishing various engine components. Power is provided by a fuel-injected 4.9-liter Colombo V12 linked to a three-speed automatic transmission, and equipment includes pop-up headlights, 415mm alloy wheels, and independent suspension with rear self-leveling as well as a MOMO steering wheel and seating for four passengers. The car was offered on BaT in January 2024 and was acquired by the seller on the site in June 2024. Over $20k in work was performed shortly thereafter, including recoring the radiator, rebuilding the starter and rear self-leveling valve, and replacing the brake booster, brake calipers, and brake lines. This 412 shows 24k kilometers (~15k miles) and is offered with service records, a Carfax report, and a Washington title in the seller’s name that lists the car as a 1980 model year.

The 412 replaced the 400i and featured body-color bumpers in addition to a revised front spoiler and sill panels. This example left the factory finished in Nero and was repainted under previous ownership. Exterior features include pop-up headlights, yellow-lens fog lights, a vented hood, Vitaloni side mirrors, and quadruple exhaust exits. The seller notes that a ceramic coating was applied in June 2025. Some areas of touch-up paint are noted.

The 415mm metric five-spoke wheels are mounted with 240/55 Michelin TRX tires, and a spare tire is located in the trunk. The car features an independent suspension with rear self-leveling, and stopping power is provided by anti-lock disc brakes at all four corners. In 2022, the valve for the self-leveling rear suspension was rebuilt, and the lower front ball joints and lower A-arm bushings were replaced. Work performed in early 2025 included installing a rebuilt brake booster and replacing the brake calipers, brake flex lines, and brake pads. The front wheel bearings were also replaced at that time, and a leak from the rear suspension was addressed. Some suspension components are noted to be showing age.

The 2+2 cabin was retrimmed in white leather and fitted with replacement carpeting and seatbelts under previous ownership around 2021. The fuse panel was repaired in early 2025. A Blaupunkt Bluetooth stereo was installed under current ownership but is not hooked up. The air conditioning does not blow cold.

The three-spoke MOMO steering wheel frames Veglia Borletti instrumentation including an 8k-rpm tachometer accompanied by a 300-km/h speedometer and gauges for oil pressure and coolant temperature. A quartz clock and gauges for fuel level and oil temperature are mounted in the center stack, though the clock does not work. The five-digit odometer shows 24k kilometers (~15k miles), approximately 400 of which were added under current ownership.

The 4.9-liter F101 Colombo quad-cam V12 is equipped with Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection and was factory rated at 340 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission. Various engine bay components were refinished under previous ownership. The fuel pumps, fuel injectors, and fuel injector lines were replaced in 2020. In early 2025, the radiator was recored, the coolant reservoir was repaired, the starter was rebuilt, and an oil change was performed.
