This European-market 1981 Ferrari 308 GTBi is a non-running project that has been fitted with aftermarket audio components as well as Recaro seats and 17″ five-spoke alloy wheels, and it was purchased by the current owner in 2002. The car is further equipped with a fuel-injected 2.9-liter quad-cam V8, a five-speed manual transaxle, Rosso Corsa paintwork, black cloth upholstery, a limited-slip differential, pop-up headlights, a quad-exit exhaust system, a gated shifter, and electric windows. This 308 GTBi is now offered by the seller on behalf of the owner with partial service records, spare parts, a clean Carfax report, and a Washington title in the current owner’s name.

The car is finished in Rosso Corsa and has pop-up headlights, dual side mirrors, a vented decklid, and quad exhaust outlets. Scratches, paint chips, imperfections, and fading in the finish are highlighted in the gallery, and swirl marks in the paintwork are noted by the seller, who notes that the car was exposed to mold and rodents during long periods of storage.

The 17″ five-spoke alloy wheels are missing the hardware for their center caps and are mounted with older Pirelli tires. The car features a fully independent suspension with double wishbones front and rear, and stopping power is provided by ventilated discs at each corner.

The cockpit houses Recaro bucket seats trimmed in black cloth, and aftermarket audio components include a CD stereo, an amplifier between the seats, and a subwoofer located in the passenger footwell. A scent is noted by the seller, and interior appointments include electric windows and a gated shifter with a dogleg gear pattern. The door panels were cut to accommodate aftermarket speakers, the headliner is stained, and the air conditioning compressor has been removed and is included in the sale. The rear hatch release is disconnected, and a portion of the latching mechanism has been removed. The ignition module and antenna have corrosion, and the male latch on the driver’s side is bent, per the seller, who states that the shifter does not move freely between gears.

The leather-wrapped MOMO steering wheel fronts Veglia instrumentation including a 180-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 7,700-rpm redline, and supplementary gauges. Additional readouts are mounted ahead of the shifter. The five-digit odometer shows 60k miles, approximately 7k of which were added under current ownership.

The mid-mounted 2.9L quad-cam V8 is equipped with Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection and was factory rated at 205 horsepower and 181 lb-ft of torque. The engine oil level is low, the car has fluid leaks, oil is noted on the spark plugs, the ignition wire require replacement, various lines are disconnected, some hardware is missing, the fuel relay has been removed, and the positive battery cable is missing its end. The seller states that the engine rotates freely, and records indicate that a 60k-mile service was performed in 2008.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential. Corrosion is located on the underside, and the clutch was replaced in 2002.
