Euro 1980 Ferrari 308 GTS

This European-market 1980 Ferrari 308 GTS is finished in Rosso Chiaro over Nero leather upholstery and is powered by a 2.9-liter V8 mated to a five-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential. Equipment includes a removable roof panel, pop-up headlights, 16″ alloy wheels, a single-outlet exhaust system, air conditioning, power windows, a gated shifter, and an Alpine Bluetooth stereo. The car was purchased by its current owner on BaT in June 2024, and the timing belts are said to have been replaced in June 2026. Showing 66k kilometers (~41k miles), this 308 GTS is offered on dealer consignment in Texas with tool kits and a clean Montana title.

The hardtop 308 GTB debuted at the 1975 Paris Motor Show, while the targa-top GTS model was introduced at the 1977 Frankfurt Motor Show. This example was factory-finished in Rosso Chiaro (599) and features a black removable roof panel, pop-up headlights, a driver-side mirror, a vented decklid, a rear fog light, and a single exhaust outlet.

Silver-finished 16″ five-spoke alloy wheels were mounted with Bridgestone Potenza S007A tires in 2020. The fully independent suspension features double wishbones front and rear, and braking is handled by four-wheel ventilated discs.

Nero leather covers the bolstered bucket seats and extends to the dashboard, center console, and door panels. Additional appointments include a gated shifter with a dogleg gear pattern as well as air conditioning, an aftermarket alarm system, power windows, and a Bluetooth-capable Alpine stereo.

The leather-wrapped MOMO steering wheel frames Veglia instrumentation consisting of a 280-km/h speedometer, a tachometer with a 7,700-rpm redline, and gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, and oil pressure. An analog clock and an oil-temperature gauge are mounted to the left of the primary instrument cluster. The five-digit odometer shows 66k kilometers (~41k miles), approximately 200 of which were added under current ownership.

The mid-mounted 2.9-liter V8 is equipped with four Weber carburetors and was factory rated at 252 horsepower in European configuration. Service since 2020 included adjusting the carburetors, rebuilding the distributor, recharging the air-conditioning refrigerant, and replacing the water pump, oil-pan gasket, air-injection plugs, oil-cooler mounts, drive belts, and decklid struts. The consigning dealer tells us that the timing belts were replaced in June 2026.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential. Work in September 2022 consisted of replacing the transmission-pan gasket, left-side CV boot, and shift-shaft seals.
