This 2023 Ferrari 488 Challenge was acquired new by the selling dealer, who reports utilizing the car in private track days and at a Ferrari Club Challenge lapping group session at Road America in 2023. Featuring adjustable aerodynamic Evo bodywork finished in Argento Nurburgring, the car is powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.9L V8 mated to a seven-speed F1 dual-clutch transaxle with an electronic limited-slip differential. It rides on 19″ Rotiform center-lock wheels and is further equipped with Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes, adjustable coilovers, and an air jack system. Inside, Sabelt carbon-fiber bucket seats with multi-point harnesses are accompanied by a roll cage, air conditioning, a Racelogic VBOX camera system, and an OMP fire-suppression system. This 488 Challenge Evo race car is now offered on a bill of sale in Grand Rapids, Michigan, with a selection of spare parts and service records.

The 488 Challenge was introduced in 2017 as the sixth model to compete in Ferrari’s single-make racing series. The revised EVO specification was unveiled in 2019 with upgraded aerodynamics that allow the ability to adjust the front aero load independently of the rear load to help optimize balance.

This example is finished in Argento Nurburgring, and various decals adorn the side skirts. Further exterior details include Lexan side windows with sliding openings as well as a Lexan hatch/engine cover, a rain light, and dual Premier Fuel Systems quick-fill fuel fittings that feed an ATL fuel cell. The seller tells us that multi-layer windshield tear-offs have been added along with paint-protection film over the full exterior.

Center-lock 19″ Rotiform forged alloy wheels are mounted with Pirelli P Zero slicks. The car is equipped with air jack and tire pressure monitoring systems, and it rides on adjustable coilovers with Eibach helper springs. The ABS and traction-control systems were reworked for the Evo and can be adjusted via dials on the dash and steering wheel, respectively. Braking is handled by Brembo six-piston front and four-piston rear calipers over carbon-ceramic discs.

The cockpit is protected by a partially padded roll cage with door bars and houses a pair of Sabelt fixed-back bucket seats with carbon-fiber shells accompanied by red six-point harnesses. The door panels are constructed of carbon fiber, and a display for the rear-view camera system is mounted atop the Alcantara-trimmed dash. Additional racing equipment includes an OMP fire suppression system and safety nets as well as a DSA race connectivity gateway (RCG), a Racelogic VBOX camera system, a push-to-drink system, a Motorola radio system, a MyLaps TR2 racing transponder, and leg containment panels in the driver’s footwell. An IMSA yellow light system and an upgraded air conditioning fan have been installed, per the seller.

The FXX-K Evo–Style steering wheel of the Challenge Evo package incorporates LED shift lights along with driver switchgear and controls that complement those found on the carbon-fiber center stack. Instrumentation consists of a configurable digital screen with a carbon-fiber surround. The digital odometer indicates 1k kilometers (~650 miles).

Derived from the powerplant in the contemporary 488 GTB, the twin-turbocharged 3.9-liter Tipo F154 V8 used in the 488 Challenge Evo is equipped with a lightened exhaust system as well as specially tuned engine management software for a factory-rated output of 661 horsepower and 560 lb-ft of torque.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a short-ratio seven-speed F1 dual-clutch transaxle with Challenge-specific shift programming and an Evo-tuned electronic limited-slip differential.

A selection of spare parts will accompany the car, and a seller-provided inventory list is viewable in the gallery below.
The car has a 17-character VIN but is not road-legal, does not have a title or registration, and is being offered on a bill of sale only.
