This European-market 1978 Ferrari 308 GTS was imported to the US after undergoing a conversion to left-hand drive and federalized in December 1986 before it was later purchased by the current owner in 2023. Powered by a 2.9-liter quad-cam V8 paired with a five-speed manual transaxle, the car is finished in red over beige leather upholstery. Equipment includes a limited-slip differential, 14″ five-spoke alloy wheels, a removable roof panel, pop-up headlights, a quad-exit exhaust system, a gated shifter, and electric windows. This 308 GTS is now offered on behalf of the current owner in New York by the seller, a BaT Local Partner, at no reserve with import documentation, service records, and a clean Arizona title in the owner’s name.

The hardtop 308 GTB debuted at the 1975 Paris Motor Show, while the targa-top GTS model was introduced at the 1977 Frankfurt Motor Show. This example has been repainted red and features a black removable roof panel, pop-up headlights, a driver-side mirror, a vented decklid, and quad exhaust outlets. Oxidation is noted on the rocker panels, and close-up photographs of the exterior finish and trim are shown in the gallery below.

The silver 14″ five-spoke alloy wheels are fitted with General Altimax tires that were mounted in 2026. The car features a fully independent suspension with double wishbones front and rear, and stopping power is provided by ventilated discs at each corner. The left rear caliper was replaced in 2026. The seller notes various aged suspension components.

The cockpit was converted to left-hand drive before imported to the US. It features bolstered seats trimmed in beige leather with black accents, along with matching door panels. A fire extinguisher is mounted beneath the passenger seat, and amenities include electric windows and a gated shifter with a dogleg gear pattern. The stereo has been removed, the air conditioning does not work, and the windshield seal is not water-tight.

The leather-wrapped steering wheel fronts Veglia instrumentation, including a replacement 180-mph speedometer that was installed when federalized, along with a tachometer and supplementary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 38k miles.

The mid-mounted 2.9L quad-cam V8 is equipped with four twin-choke Weber 40DCNF carburetors and was factory rated at 255 horsepower. A battery cut-off switch has been added, the choke cable has been disconnected, and the seller notes oil seepage. A timing belt and water pump service was last completed in 2019.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential. The transaxle fluid was changed in May 2026.

A tool kit will accompany the sale, along with service records, manufacturer’s literature, and spare parts.

Photos of the conversion to left-hand drive are provided in the gallery below.
