This 1969 Ferrari Dino 246 GT is one of approximately 357 L-Series examples produced between June 1969 and October 1970. It was completed in August 1969 and delivered new to Renato Nocentini’s Garage La Rotonda in Prato, Italy. The car was later imported to the US and then acquired by the owner in 1991. It has since been displayed at several shows during Monterey Car Week, including Concours on the Avenue. Finished in red over Nero leather, the car is powered by a replacement 2.4-liter V6 paired with a five-speed manual transaxle. Equipment includes triple Weber carburetors, an ANSA exhaust system, an MSD ignition module, 14″ Cromodora wheels, power-assisted ventilated disc brakes, a gated shifter, and Daytona-style seats. This 246 GT is now offered on dealer consignment as part of Mohr Imports’ LeVett Collection at no reserve with a Marcel Massini report, manufacturer’s literature, service records, and a clean California title describing it as a 1970 model.

The L-Series 246 GT debuted at the Geneva Motor Show in 1969 as the successor to the 206 GT of 1967 to 1969. Like its predecessor, it featured an aluminum hood, decklid, and doors as well as a push-button trunk latch and thinner chrome bumpers compared to later 246 GTs. The Scaglietti-built bodywork on this example was factory-finished in Rosso Dino and was repainted in the current red under previous ownership. Additional exterior features include a driver-side mirror, chrome bumpers, and a power antenna. European-market lighting includes flush front turn signal lenses, small round signal repeaters on the front fenders, amber rear turn signals, and the absence of rectangular rear reflectors. Photos of the exterior condition and imperfections are viewable in the gallery below.

The 14″ Cromodora knock-off alloy wheels are secured by safety nuts and are wrapped in 205/70 Michelin XWX tires. A matching spare wheel is mounted in the front trunk compartment. The suspension incorporates unequal-length A-arms, coilover shock absorbers, and anti-roll bars front and rear. Stopping power is provided by power-assisted ventilated disc brakes at all four corners. The brake fluid was flushed in September 2019, and the rear brake calipers and hoses were replaced in January 2021.

The cabin features fixed-back bucket seats with Daytona-style perforated inserts trimmed in Nero leather, along with color-matched upholstery over the door panels and center console. Black carpets line the floors, and additional appointments include black vinyl dash trim, a heater, a gated shifter, manual crank windows, and headrests mounted to the rear bulkhead. The combination switch was repaired in May 2026.

The leather-trimmed MOMO steering wheel features a Dino horn button and frames Dino-branded Veglia Borletti instrumentation including a 270-km/h speedometer, a tachometer with a 7,750-rpm redline, an analog clock, and auxiliary gauges for oil temperature, coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and amperage. The five-digit odometer shows 63k kilometers (~39k miles).

The replacement mid-mounted 2.4-liter V6 features a 65° angle between cylinder banks, dual overhead camshafts, and a trio of two-barrel Weber carburetors. An MSD ignition module is mounted in the rear trunk area. Work in January 2021 included installing an ANSA exhaust system and replacing the engine mounts, transaxle mounts, and ignition points. The spark plugs were removed and cleaned and the oil was changed in preparation for the sale. A photo of the engine stamping is provided in the gallery.

Power is sent to the rear wheels via a five-speed manual transaxle. The clutch cable was replaced in September 2014.

Various stampings are detailed in the photo gallery below.

The Marcel Massini report lists the original colors and component numbers as well as the build and ownership timeline, which notes the engine replacement.
The current California title is a duplicate.
The LeVett estate will donate a portion of the winning bid on this auction to the Doris Day Animal Foundation, a 501(c)(3) Public Charity founded in 1978.
