This 1997 Ferrari F355 Spider was sold new by Ferrari of Beverly Hills to pianist and composer Herbie Hancock, who owned the vehicle until 2014. It later spent time in Texas and was acquired by the seller on BaT in May 2021. Work since that time has involved changing the fluids, rebuilding the alternator, replacing the tires, and performing an engine-out timing belt service. Finished in Rosso Monza over black leather, the car is powered by a 3.5-liter 40-valve V8 paired with a six-speed manual transaxle. It rolls on 18″ magnesium wheels and is further equipped with a black convertible soft top, Scuderia Ferrari fender shields, a gated shifter, air conditioning, and an Alpine head unit. This F355 Spider has 28k miles and is now offered with a window sticker, manufacturer’s literature, service records, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Florida title in the seller’s name.

The Pininfarina-designed body is finished in Rosso Monza (311), and a replacement black soft top was installed by Fast Cars LTD. of Redondo Beach, California, in 2014. Scuderia Ferrari fender shields were added, and the rear bumper cover was repainted under previous ownership. Details include pop-up headlights, fog lights, an integrated rear decklid spoiler, quad exhaust outlets, a vented engine cover, and air intakes on the doors and rocker panels.

The 18″ five-spoke magnesium wheels are wrapped in 225/40 front and 285/35 rear Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires with a mixture of 2020 and 2021 date codes. Ferrari-branded brake calipers are mounted over ventilated discs at each corner. The brake and power steering fluids were changed in December 2025.

The power-adjustable seats were reupholstered in black leather in November 2013, and color-matching material extends to the dashboard, center console, and door panels. The sticky buttons and seat levers were replaced under previous ownership, and appointments include air conditioning, a gated shifter, drilled aluminum pedals, a Bluetooth-capable Alpine head unit, and a Hertz amplifier. The driver’s door panel upholstery is beginning to separate.

The leather-wrapped airbag steering wheel frames a 200-mph speedometer, a 10k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for oil pressure and coolant temperature. Ancillary instruments in the center stack include an analog clock and gauges for fuel level and oil temperature. The six-digit odometer shows 28k miles, approximately 3k of which have been added under current ownership.

The mid-mounted 3.5-liter DOHC V8 features five valves per cylinder and dry-sump lubrication for a factory-rated output of 375 horsepower and 268 lb-ft of torque. An engine-out belt service performed by Fiorano Motor Sports of Miami, Florida, was completed in December 2025, with work that involved changing the fluids and replacing the timing belt, alternator belt adjuster, and motor mounts. The battery was replaced, and the alternator was rebuilt in preparation for the sale.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transaxle with a limited-slip differential that received a fluid exchange in December 2025.

The 1996-dated warranty card shows the selling dealer as Ferrari of Beverly Hills in California, and notes Herbie Hancock as the owner.
The Carfax report is free of accidents or other reported damage.
