This 1992 Ferrari 512 TR is one of 408 examples delivered to North America between 1992 and 1994. Chassis 92617 was fitted with a Koenig Specials alloy widebody kit and converted to a race car in the 1990s before being campaigned by the late racer William Hubbell. Following time in storage, it was acquired by Throtl of San Diego, California, in 2025 and refurbished as part of a project chronicled on their YouTube channel later in the year. Work involved a repaint in Rosso Corsa and an engine-out overhaul of the 4.9-liter DOHC flat-12. The car features an asymmetric front air intake, a carbon-Kevlar vented hood, and a Koenig Specials rear wing and rides on 18″ HRE 505 wheels coupled with Penske Racing adjustable coilovers and Brembo disc brakes at all four corners. Inside, the stripped cockpit is outfitted with a MOMO steering wheel, Daytona seats, and five-point harnesses as well as a roll cage and a fire-suppression system. The engine is managed by an EFI Technology X5 ECU and fitted with a Vibrant Performance exhaust system, while shifting is through a dogleg five-speed manual transaxle linked with a limited-slip differential. This 512 TR race car is now offered on dealer consignment with spare parts, racing records, a clean Carfax report, and a California title.

The car was dismantled and fitted with a Koenig Specials alloy widebody kit as well as a roll cage with door bars as part of the initial race car build completed in the 1990s. A collection of photos from the process is viewable in the gallery.

A photo of the car on track in a silver-and-yellow Hubbell #230 livery at Laguna Seca is shown above. Screenshots of the car’s racing records are presented in the gallery.

Following a period of storage, the car was acquired by Throtl and repainted in Rosso Corsa by Torrey Pines Collision of San Diego, California, in 2025, as part of the aforementioned cosmetic and mechanical refurbishment. The finished car was displayed at the Exotics on Broadway show during Monterey Car Week that summer. The Throtl project is chronicled on the shop’s YouTube channel in a video that is linked in the gallery below.

The car features an asymmetric front air intake, a carbon-Kevlar vented hood, a Koenig Specials rear wing, and a custom tail panel. The front and rear windscreens are constructed of polycarbonate, and further details include a front tow-point, hood pins, door-mounted mirrors, and a Koenig Specials badge on the rear bodywork. The car is not equipped with headlights, turn signals, or door glass.

Silver-finished 18″ HRE 505 wheels were installed as part of the 2025 refurbishment. They are secured using Motorsport Hardware wheel studs and are mounted with 255/35 front and 295/40 rear Falken Azenis RT660+ tires. The car rides on Penske Racing coilovers that were overhauled under current ownership, and stopping is handled by red-painted Brembo calipers over slotted rotors at all four corners.

Finished in white, the stripped cockpit is protected by a roll cage with door bars and houses fixed-back MOMO Daytona seats trimmed in black fabric that are paired with red five-point harnesses. A combination switch panel and fuse box is located between the seats, the bottle for the Fire Bottle fire-suppression system is mounted to the right of the passenger’s seat, and an EFI Technology X5 ECU is affixed to the rear bulkhead.

The flat-bottom MOMO steering wheel is mounted on a quick-release hub and paired with a dogleg-pattern gated shifter. The wheel sits ahead of a carbon-fiber panel housing an EFI Technology digital display. The speed sensor cable is disconnected, and total mileage is unknown.

The 4.9-liter DOHC flat-12 was removed from the car in 2025 and serviced by Throtl in San Diego. Work is noted to have involved refinishing the cylinder heads, overhauling the fuel injectors, and installing custom K&N intakes as well as replacing the following parts and components:
- Spark plugs
- Valve seats
- Head studs
- Crank pulley
- Crank angle sensor
- Vacuum lines
- Covers and gaskets
- Belts

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential. According to the previous owner, the transaxle was rebuilt to BB/LM specifications by Bob Wallace Cars of Phoenix, Arizona. Further modifications include a Vibrant Performance stainless-steel exhaust system and a fuel cell with braided stainless steel lines and AN fittings. The car is not equipped with catalytic converters.

A binder of records and a collection of spare and removed parts will accompany the car. The included collection is outlined in a document provided by the seller in the gallery.
The Carfax report is free of accidents or other reported damage and notes at least one open manufacturer recall.
The California title carries a “Title Only” notation, and the car cannot pass a California emissions test.
