This 3.5-liter Tipo F129B V8 was manufactured by Ferrari for use in a 1994–1998 F355, and the seller reports that the engine was rebuilt in 2006 by GMG Racing of Thermal, California. The seller goes on to note that the engine was subsequently broken in on a dynamometer and used for fewer than 100 miles in a 1999 Dallara Euroc. The seller purchased the Dallara in 2025, and the engine is now offered at no reserve in Conroe, Texas.
The 3,496 cc F129B features two belt-driven overhead camshafts on each cylinder bank, operating five valves per cylinder. The F355 was the first Ferrari road car equipped with a five-valve-per-cylinder engine. The block and cylinder heads are constructed of aluminum.
