This 1984 Ferrari 400i was sold new by Achilli Motors of Milan to FMG Motor International of Beverly Hills, California. The car was specified in Light Metallic Blue over Blu Connolly leather, and its fuel-injected 4.8L Colombo quad-cam V12 is mated to a three-speed automatic transmission. Other details include a limited-slip differential, 15″ five-lug Cromodora wheels, independent suspension, front and rear air conditioning, and a Blaupunkt cassette stereo. The vehicle was registered in Mississippi for 30 years, and it shows 33k miles. This 400i coupe is offered by the selling dealer at no reserve with manufacturer’s literature, records dating from 1984 through 2001, a clean Carfax report, and a clean New York title.

The 400 features bodywork by Leonardo Fioravanti at Pininfarina. The cars were not officially offered in the US, although some were imported and federalized in-period via the gray market, as was this example.

The body was finished at the factory in Light Metallic Blue (502), and the car features pop-up quad headlights, fog lights, hood louvers, quad circular taillights, a body-color taillight panel, Pininfarina badging, and quad exhaust outlets. Body and paint work from 1987, including replacement of the front bumper, is itemized in records that accompany the car, and paint-meter readings taken around the vehicle are shown in the gallery below.

The car features an independent front and rear suspension, and stopping power is provided by discs at all four corners. The 15″ five-lug Cromodora five-spoke alloy wheels are mounted with Michelin TRX tires.

The 2+2 interior features Blu Connolly leather (VM 3282), color-keyed carpets, power windows, front and rear air conditioning, and a Blaupunkt Toronto SQR 32 stereo.

The leather-wrapped three-spoke steering wheel frames Veglia Borletti instrumentation including an 8k-rpm tachometer accompanied by a speedometer and gauges for oil pressure and coolant temperature. A quartz clock and gauges for fuel level and oil temperature are mounted in the center stack. The five-digit odometer shows 33k miles.

The 4.8-liter F101 Colombo quad-cam V12 was equipped at the factory with Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection, and it was rated when new at 310 horsepower.

The GM Turbo-Hydramatic 400 three-speed automatic transmission drives the rear wheels through a limited-slip differential.

Forty pages of documentation are included in the sale, and they are displayed at the end of the gallery.
The Carfax report is free of accidents or other reported damage.
