This 2001 Ferrari 550 is #351 of 448 Barchetta Pininfarina roadsters produced to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Pininfarina design house. The car was ordered through Ferrari San Francisco, and it was specified in Argento Nurburgring over Blu Scuro Connolly leather. Details include a 5.5-liter F133C V12, a six-speed manual transaxle, a limited-slip differential, a gated shifter, racing-style bucket seats, twin roll bars, a radio, and automatic climate control. A timing-belt service was carried out in July 2023. This 550 Barchetta Pininfarina shows 3,400 miles and is now offered by the selling dealer in California with a Ferrari Classiche red book, a window sticker, a toolkit, literature, a rain fly, a car cover, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Ohio title.
The Barchetta Pininfarina debuted at the 2000 Paris Motor Show. Compared to the contemporary 550 Maranello coupe, it featured a more aggressively raked windshield, shortened A-pillars, added roll hoops, and an elongated rear section. A rain fly was equipped from the factory and was recommended by the manufacturer for use at speeds not exceeding 70 mph.
This example is finished in Argento Nurburgring (101) with Scuderia fender shields. It features fog lights, a crosshatch grille with a central Cavallino Rampante badge, a central hood scoop, power-operated heated side mirrors, and a quad-exit exhaust.
The modular 18″ Speedline wheels are mounted with Pirelli tires. The car is equipped with an independent front and rear suspension with unequal-length wishbones and telescopic rear shock absorbers, and stopping power is provided by cross-drilled and ventilated rotors at all four corners.
Trimmed in Blu Scuro Connolly leather, the cabin features racing-style bucket seats, an optional-color upper dashboard, carbon-fiber trim accents, a gated shifter, a radio, and automatic climate control.
A badge on the carbon-fiber center console indicates that this car is #351 of 448 examples produced, and it features a facsimile of Sergio Pininfarina’s signature.
Specified in optional Blu Scuro, the steering wheel frames a suede-trimmed instrument binnacle that houses a carbon-fiber gauge surround. Jaeger instrumentation includes a 220-mph speedometer, a 10k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for coolant temperature, oil temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 3,400 miles.
The 5.5-liter F133C quad-cam V12 features Bosch Motronic engine management and dry-sump lubrication, and it was factory rated at 485 horsepower and 419 lb-ft of torque. A timing-belt service was last performed in July 2023.
