This 2001 Ferrari 550 is #401 of 448 Barchetta Pininfarina roadsters produced to celebrate the 70th anniversary of design house Pininfarina. Chassis 124379 was specified from the factory in Giallo Modena over Beige Tradizione Connolly leather with the optional Fiorano Handling Package and was sold new to its first owner through Foreign Cars Italia of Greensboro, North Carolina, in November 2001. It was later relocated to Florida following its acquisition by the current owner in 2007, received a ~$37k timing belt and major Ferrari service in January 2023, and obtained Ferrari Classiche certification in April 2023. Now showing 2,200 miles, the car is powered by a 5.5-liter F133C V12 linked to a six-speed manual transaxle with a limited-slip differential and rides on 18″ Speedline modular wheels. Inside, carbon-fiber-backed seats are accompanied by carbon-fiber trim, a gated shifter, a CD stereo, and automatic climate control. This 550 Barchetta Pininfarina is offered on dealer consignment by Collective Auto Group—a BaT Local Partner—with a Ferrari Classiche red book, a window sticker, service records, a black rain fly, a car cover, a Carfax report, and a clean Florida title.

The Barchetta Pininfarina debuted at the 2000 Paris Motor Show. Compared to the contemporary 550 Maranello coupe, it featured a more aggressively raked windshield, shortened A-pillars, added roll hoops, and an elongated rear section. A black rain fly was equipped from the factory and was recommended by the manufacturer for use at speeds below 70 mph.

This car is finished in Giallo Modena and wears Scuderia Ferrari fender shields. Further details include a crosshatch grille, a hood scoop, covered headlamps, integrated fog lights, an aluminum fuel-filler door, and a quad-exit exhaust. The Carfax report lists a February 2002 entry listing “minor damage with another motor vehicle.” The owner states that the incident occurred at a Ferrari dealer and resulted in damage to the front lip spoiler and bumper cover. A scratch is visible on the front lip spoiler, and cracking paint is noted near the exhaust outlets.

The 18″ Speedline modular wheels wear yellow prancing horse center caps and are mounted with 255/40 front and 295/35 rear Pirelli P Zero Rosso tires. The optional Fiorano Handling Package added re-mapped steering and suspension software as well as stiffer springs, a thicker rear-anti-roll bar, red-finished brake calipers, and updated Pagid brake pads. The steering rack boots were replaced in January 2023.

The cockpit features adjustable carbon-fiber-backed seats trimmed in Beige Tradizione Connolly leather upholstery, which extends to the center console and lower dashboard as well as the door panels. Black leather covers the upper dash, while carbon-fiber trim accents the steering wheel, shift knob, center console, gauge surrounds, and door sills. A Ferrari-branded Becker stereo is connected to a CD changer in the trunk, and the car is further equipped with automatic climate control. Sticky interior buttons were refinished in February 2015, while work in April 2023 involved replacing the air conditioning compressor belt as well as reprogramming the alarm system.

The three-spoke steering wheel is paired with a gated shifter and fronts a suede-trimmed instrument binnacle. Jaeger instrumentation consists of a 220-mph speedometer, a 10k-rpm tachometer, and readouts for coolant temperature and oil pressure in the cluster along with an analog clock and auxiliary gauges for oil temperature and fuel level atop the center stack. The six-digit mechanical odometer shows 2,200 miles, approximately 1,100 of which were added under current ownership.

A badge on the center console indicates that this car is #401 of 448 produced and features a facsimile of Sergio Pininfarina’s signature.

The 5.5-liter F133C quad-cam V12 features Bosch Motronic engine management and dry-sump lubrication, and it was factory rated at 485 horsepower and 419 lb-ft of torque. A timing belt service was performed and the fuel pumps were rebuilt in February 2015. Work in January 2023 by Ferrari Maserati of Central Florida totaled just under $37k and involved completing another timing belt service and overhauling the fuel system along with replacing the camshaft phase sensor, water canister and clutch control pump. The associated invoice is provided in the gallery below.

Power is routed to the rear wheels via a rear-mounted six-speed manual transaxle with a limited-slip differential.

The window sticker lists initial delivery to Foreign Cars Italia in North Carolina along with equipment, options, and a total suggested retail price of $261,109.

The Ferrari Classiche red book was issued in April 2023 and includes a technical sheet listing the original colors as well as delivery information.
The Carfax report lists the aforementioned February 2002 accident entry.
